MCAUSEVILLE, IN — One person is in an Indianapolis hospital Friday morning after a crash between a semi truck and a Jeep Wrangler occurred in McCawsville.
The police arrived and found the Jeep secured under the semi-trailer.
The Jeep driver was trapped, but firefighters rescued him, police said. Police said the driver was taken to an Indianapolis hospital and is currently in a stable condition.
Police said the cicada driver was not injured.
Police said the jeep was heading east on 86th Street, north of County Route 900 at the Marion-Hancock County line, while the cicada was heading west of County Route 700 or north on Carroll Road.
Investigators have not revealed the cause of the crash.
Police said the intersection where the jeep and cicada collided was locked in four corners.
The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, Fortville Police Department, New Palestine Police Department, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, Vernon Township Fire Department, Lawrence Fire Department, and Indianapolis Fire Department also cooperated in the incident.
