Hyundai has changed the look of the Grand i10 Nios and added some features. It also gets RDE-compliant gasoline and gasoline + CNG engines.

The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios was launched in August 2019. At the time, the company’s hatchback was positioned above the Santoro and the regular Grand i10 in his lineup. It looks good and the interior was also the best in its segment in terms of design and quality. Hyundai powered this car in February 2020 by introducing a turbo petrol engine to the car. Hyundai is now launching the latest version of its B1 segment hatchback. Let’s take a look at some of the notable changes made to the car.
First, there are no more turbo petrol engines. This is a big disappointment for enthusiasts looking for a small hatchback that is fun to drive. Engine options now include the same 1.2L Kappa naturally aspirated petrol motor and 5-speed MT and AMT options, as well as 1.2L Kappa petrol + CNG and 5-speed MT. Notably, these engines comply with his RDE. The RDE emission standard will be introduced in April 2023. These require vehicles to emit less than a certain amount of carbon dioxide in realistic driving situations.

In terms of features, the Grand i10 Nios comes with new features such as cruise control, LED taillights, automatic headlamps with escort function, rear A/C vent, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility and an 8-inch touchscreen head unit with navigation. It is equipped with functions. Via smartphones, voice recognition, wireless smartphone charging (first in the segment), fast USB chargers (Type-C) and more.
The car has four standard airbags (first in the segment) and six airbags (top-end version), emergency stop signal (first in the segment), tire pressure monitoring system (first in the segment), hill-start assist control ( HAC), electronic stability control, vehicle stability management, parking assistance with rear parking sensors and rear camera, ISOFIX child seat anchors and more.
Nios comes in four variants: Era, Magna, Sportz and Asta. These are priced between Rs. 5.69 – 8.47 rough. At these prices, Hyundai managed to undercut its main rival in the segment, the Maruti Suzuki Swift.
Hyundai offers a 3 year / 1,00,000 km warranty package. You can purchase an additional extended warranty up to 7 years. This extension is highly recommended for heavy usage. Hyundai is also providing Nios with three years of roadside assistance. You also get the Shield of Trust Repair Running Package for up to 5 years and the Shield of Trust Super Maintenance Package for up to 5 years.
2023 Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Facelift Exterior Review
The front end gets a new bumper with a larger air dam and redesigned LED DRL.
At the rear there are new tail lamp clusters and a pair of reflective strips in the hatch. There are two parking sensors in the rear bumper.
Other than a redesigned set of aluminum wheels, there are no changes to the sides of the car.
The Grand i10 Nios measures 3,815 mm x 1,680 mm x 1,520 mm (L x W x H) with a wheelbase of 2,450 mm. This makes it 10 mm longer than the previous model.
Halogen projector headlamps have auto and escort functions.
The redesigned bumper is fitted with a large air dam with a glossy black honeycomb mesh grille. The fog lights have been removed in favor of restyled LED DRLs.
The DRL is bright and noticeable.
The door handle has a chrome finish. The right front unit gets the request sensor.
The redesigned 15-inch dual-tone diamond-cut alloy wheels look funky. The 175/60 section MRF ZVTS tires are retained.
The tail lamp cluster gets a reworked element. It has LED pilot lamps, halogen stop lamps, reverse lamps and turn signals.
The hatch gets a reflective strip running between the tail lamp clusters. Notice how it mates with the pilot lamps on each side.
The rear camera is positioned just below the central reflective strip and above the ‘H’ badge.
The refined 1.2L 4-cylinder Kappa petrol engine is inherited. Produces 82 BHP (@ 6,000 rpm) and 114 Nm of maximum torque (@ 4,000 rpm). This is the same as the preceding vehicle. However, it is not RDE compliant. This means they emit less than a certain amount of carbon dioxide under realistic driving conditions.
