There is no direct correlation between pets and cars, but on Saturday, January 28th from 9am to 4pm, the Redlands Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram will be at 500 W Redlands Blvd.

The dealer is working with Redlands Animal Shelter, which plans to make pets available for same day adoption. Food vendors, live entertainment and raffles are also planned. Proceeds will be donated to animal shelters.

Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Redlands branch event organizer Jessica Dougherty said dealers are passionate about the cause. She’s often witnessed posts on her social media showing that the shelter is full. All of our dealers love animals, so the collaboration was a natural idea.

Food vendors Finazzos PizzaBox in Forest Falls, Little Benny’s Kettle Corn and More in Yucaipa, and Bully Boy’s Bakery in Redlands will offer signature dishes. Finazzos PizzaBox offers a variety of pizzas, jalapeno poppers and chicken wings. Little Benny’s Kettle Corn and More sells funnel cakes, hot pretzels, churros, fried Oreos, kettle corn and flavored corn. Bully Boy’s Bakery, which also sells products to local small businesses, offers a selection of dog treats.

Entertainment is provided by radio stations KOLA 99.9 and KCAL 96.7.

Redlands is in danger of finding homes for many pets living in shelters. On January 14, the shelter posted on her Facebook that the shelter only has 28 kennels to house her 37 dogs.

Redlands Friends of Shelter Animals participate in pet adoption events. Friends Group is an all-volunteer non-profit organization that works with the Inland Empire animal shelter to work with communities to save homeless animals. South Paw Rescue is a Forest Falls animal shelter that also offers animals for adoption at the event.

There are demonstrations of pet training by Enlighten Dogs Training Center and Bad Attitude K9 Dog Training, a key component of adopting a dog.

The Sunday Market Redlands will have a booth and Ozel Jewelers will be there.

“The goal is to get them on board for the day,” Dougherty said.

The number of animals on site for adoption depends on the volunteers at each shelter.

A raffle with valuable prizes from vendors and local donors is a $1 per ticket fundraising source.

The auto dealership also donates $50 to Redlands Animal Shelter for every car sold in January.

The Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram hopes people will come, stay a while and support the cause. Doherty said the goal is for the Redlands Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram to be active in the community.
