cow wow We reviewed McMurtry Automotive’s Speirling hypercar and the results are impressive. The electric Spearing Speedster, Irish for ‘thunderstorm’, captured the attention of the auto industry in June by breaking the Goodwood Festival of Speed hillclimb record and beating out a Formula 1 race car.
The Speirling has two electric motors producing 1,000 horsepower and is fitted into a very light carbon fiber monocoque chassis weighing just under 1,000 kg. This gives the Sparring a power-to-weight ratio of around 1:1, and when combined with a fan system that allows for 2,000kg of downforce, the Sparring is an absolute beast on the circuit.
break down cow wow In road car records, Spearing was able to record 0-60mph in 1.4 seconds and 0-100mph in 2.63 seconds, with a quarter-mile time of 7.97 seconds.
