Charges pending in wrong-way U.S. 27 crash that kills four in Glades


Four people, including an unborn child, died in a reverse collision in Glades County early Sunday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The head-on collision vehicle overturned and burst into flames, killing the driver and a pregnant passenger, FHP said.

An unidentified 28-year-old female passenger in the car that caused the accident also died. she was wearing a seat belt.

The collision occurred at 1:14 a.m. in Glades on Route 27 and County Route 773.

A 37-year-old Fort Lauderdale man was driving a Lexus SUV northbound on Route 27 in the southbound lane near Route 773, FHP reported.
