Identified man who died after three cars collided
An Oxnard man has been identified Friday after he was killed in a three-car collision.
The county coroner’s office identified him as 38-year-old Jesus Aguilar. His death was caused by multiple injuries and was accidental, officials said Monday.
The accident was reported around 6:30 am along Moorpark Road near the intersection with Tierra Lejada Road just west of US 23. Aguilar was driving north on Moorpark Road in his Honda Accord when he crossed the yellow double line and collided head-on with a car. The Jeep Cherokee driver headed south, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The Jeep went down a nearby embankment and the Honda spun out and hit a Chevrolet Traverse that was also heading south. Aguilar was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Jeep driver suffered a broken leg, according to CHP. Officers said the driver of the Chevrolet was not injured.
