Dealers ready for Genesis luxury EV

Luxury electric vehicle buyers can expect to see a luxury electric coupe in the Genesis showroom. The brand will continue to open dedicated retail stores and transition to an all-EV lineup.

Peter Lanzavecchia, longtime chairman of the Genesis National Dealer Advisory Council and owner of Genesis of Cherry Hill in Marlton, New Jersey, said: car news Luc Donckerwolke, the brand’s chief creative officer, told dealers at the Genesis annual meeting that the X convertible concept, which was unveiled ahead of last year’s Los Angeles Auto Show, will enter production.

“When he said it at a dealer meeting, when he said it in front of hundreds of Genesis dealers, that’s a pretty good sign,” Lanzavecchia said.

Lanzavecchia says the Performance GT Coupe is high on Genesis dealers’ wish lists, adding that rumors had been circulating before Donckerwolke told dealers about the planned sale.

“I don’t know if it’s over $200,000 or over $300,000, but I’m pretty sure we’ll see a lot of Bentley Continental Convertible trade-ins when it comes to showrooms,” he said.

“It’s going to be a true halo flagship for the brand,” he said. I think it helps to put the exclamation point of being a luxury brand at the end of the sentence.”
