Hertz to offer Tesla, Polestar rentals to Uber drivers in Europe


LONDON — Car rental company Hertz plans to make up to 25,000 fully electric vehicles for rent to Uber drivers in the European capital by 2025.

The rollout of rental deals, including Tesla and Polestar models, began in London this month, and Hertz plans to add more than 10,000 EVs by 2025, making them available for rent by Uber drivers.

The program will be expanded to other European capitals, including Paris and Amsterdam, during 2023.
Uber said models on offer will include the Tesla Model 3 and Polestar 2, with pricing to be confirmed after rentals begin in London.

Pricing “will be comparable to other rentals currently offered through Uber’s UK partners,” Uber said. This includes insurance and maintenance, with the benefit of drivers not having to pay congestion and emissions charges in London.
