overview
The Jeep Avenger is a compact five-door SUV and the first all-electric model to join the Jeep range. A front-wheel-drive ‘First Edition’ model will be available, with the full range coming in summer 2023.
The smallest option in Jeep’s lineup, this new battery-powered SUV shares its foundation with the Peugeot e-2008 and Vauxhall Mokka Electric. However, the Avenger is more compact. At just over four meters long, the SUV is about the same length as the Volkswagen Polo.
Designed with the European market in mind, the Avenger received a very warm reception from the media, achieved review scores ranging from good to outstanding, and was recently awarded the 2023 European Car of the Year.
“Never before has Jeep sold such a competitive and on-trend product in Europe,” he said. auto car‘s Mark Tisshaw adds that the car’s boxy design makes for a surprisingly utilitarian interior that can handle difficult terrain without the four-wheel-drive set-up that Jeep drivers are accustomed to.
of Denka.com The team was more impressed with how the Avenger handled the average urban commute. They conclude that the SUV is comfortable, fun to style, “perfect for city maneuvers, and far superior to most other compact SUVs.”
The Avenger offers battery range that matches its competitors, but some of these rivals offer a few extra miles from a full charge and are priced lower.
As of January 2023, the Jeep Avenger is 73% expert rating, based on 12 reviews published by British automotive media. Since this is an all-new model, expect a number of UK-based reviews to be published in the coming months, which could push the rating up or down by a few points.

“The mainstream jeeps for Europe—the small Renegade and the mid-size Compass—were mediocre. It’s comfortable to sit in, and the beautifully executed design offers all the charm of Jeep’s trademark in a bonsai package.” (Phil McNamara)

“This compact electric SUV is practical, understated and surprisingly sophisticated. Purists will scoff at the idea of a front-wheel-drive, pure-electric Jeep, but the brand’s “go anywhere” ethos is still present in the Avenger. (Ellis Hyde)

“The Jeep Avenger is a great little electric car that is fun, comfortable, practical and has character. It’s better than an SUV, with an official range of 250 miles, which means it’s efficient and suitable for long journeys.”

“The outline here of creating an all-electric, fun boxy jeep has the kind of flair customers are likely to ask for. Provides the kind of bad-weather driving confidence that most lack. Of course, you can argue that it’s not a “real Jeep” for all sorts of reasons. (Jonathan Crouch)

“The new Jeep Avenger was designed to give owners an introduction to off-road freedom and outback adventures. But it’s also a great city car. Big wheels, short overhangs, long-travel suspension. It soaks up rough terrain well, and excels on city speed bumps.” (Rob Gill)
