UT police have arrested a man who allegedly stole a pickup jeep loaded with goods. .
According to police, plaintiff Rajender Karki reported that a jeep loaded with eight air coolers, bags of spices and a trolley bag was stolen from Dahlia on the night of December 27 and 28.
During the investigation, a team led by Inspector SHO Ramratan of the Industrial Area Police Station learned that a car with a Haryana registration number was seen at the crime scene on the day of the incident.
Police tracked down the owner of the car, an Ambala resident, and revealed that Nirmal Singh had rented his car.
In the lead, Nirmal Singh, a resident of Sabdarpur village in Rajpura, is captured from Ludhiana and a stolen jeep and two stolen air coolers are recovered from him.
His interrogation recovered 22 bags of spices, 2 air coolers and 5 trolley bags from Ambala.
Police said Nirmal’s nephew Lovepreet, aka Lovely, who was another suspect in the case, is now on the run.
They said Nirmal had committed theft for the past 20 years and was found to be involved in at least 17 criminal cases.
