– Below are crime reports and arrests filed by the NYPD Police Department in the Bronx.

40th District

— Wednesday, January 18, Shalane Lowe, 34, an off-duty NYPD communications technician, was arrested within the 40th Precinct and charged with assault and harassment.

41st District

— At approximately 8:50 pm on Thursday, January 19, an unidentified individual was driving a westbound gray Jeep Renegade on Longwood Avenue. At the same time, a group was leaving the Police Athletic League at 991 Longwood Avenue. As the group remained in front of the location, the jeep turned and headed back east on Longwood Avenue from Kelly Street. I parked my Jeep near Beck Street and Longwood Avenue, got out of the car, and walked across the street. The individual showed the firearm and fired at the group of individuals about three times.

As a result, two victims were attacked. His 15-year-old man, identified as Josue Lopez-Ortega, sustained a gunshot wound to his head and was taken by EMS to New York City Health Hospital/Lincoln, where he was pronounced dead. Another of his, a 16-year-old man, had a gunshot wound to his leg and was taken to New York City Health Hospital/Lincoln in stable condition.

The gunman escaped in a jeep and was last seen maneuvering the jeep eastward on Longwood Avenue.

— At 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 18, Darrell Wallace, a 47-year-old NYC Department of Corrections employee, was arrested and charged with drug possession and propagating prison contraband.

44th District

— At approximately 5:20 pm on Sunday, January 22, an unidentified man broke into the Aoasan Deli at 1040 Grant Avenue, went behind the counter, and retrieved an unknown amount of cash from the cash register. The men then fled on foot to an unknown location. No injuries have been reported as a result of this incident.

The individual is a male, pale complexion, approximately 30-40 years old, medium build, dark hair, and last seen wearing a black parka jacket, blue jeans, and black boots.

— Saturday, January 21st, At 10:36 p.m., police responded to a 911 call of a shot being fired near 1121 Morris Ave. Upon arrival, officers observed his two men with gunshot wounds. The first victim, a 29-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his left arm, was transferred in stable condition by EMS to New York City Health Hospital/Lincoln. The second victim, a 33-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the stomach, was taken by EMS to New York City Health Hospital/Lincoln and pronounced dead.

An ongoing investigation has revealed two more victims as a result of the incident. The third victim, a 30-year-old man, Sherman, was found by officers with a gunshot wound to his hip near his Avenue and East 167th Street. EMS responded and transported the assisted man in stable condition to New York City Health and Hospital/Lincoln. The fourth victim, a 24-year-old male, was personally transferred to New York City Health Hospital/Harlem in stable condition. The investigation is still ongoing.

The identity of the deceased is pending notification from the family.

— On Wednesday, January 18, Leonard Thalese, 40, of Garden Street, was arrested and charged with murder, manslaughter, and criminal possession of a weapon in connection with a murder that occurred on May 14, 2022. it was done.

At 2 a.m. that day, police responded to a call of someone being shot inside Joyce Kilmer Park at the corner of East 161st Street and the Grand Concourse in the 44th Precinct. Officers found Miguel Rodriguez, a 27-year-old man, unconscious and unresponsive with a gunshot wound to his head. EMS responded and took the man to He NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln, where Rodriguez was pronounced dead.

— Police are trying to identify individuals in connection with the robbery. I notified the police that Thursday, January 5thAt 2:17 a.m., an unidentified man jumped over the fence behind 1382 Shakespeare Avenue and entered a commercial building through a basement door. This individual removed his five boxes filled with an estimated $500 worth of chemical cleaning supplies. The person then returned for his second time and removed a floor cleaner worth an estimated $2,500. The individual fled on foot in an unknown direction and is currently on the run.

— At 8:51 pm on Wednesday, January 18, police responded to a 911 call that a man was shot behind 4057 Pratt Ave. chest. EMS responded and he transported the rescued man to NYC Health and Hospitals/Jacob, where he was pronounced dead. No arrests have been made as of press time, and the investigation continues.

The deceased man has been identified as Nicholas Lewis, who lived at the location.

— At approximately 4:35 a.m. on Saturday, January 7, an unidentified individual displayed a firearm and opened fire on a Mercedes-Benz sedan traveling west on East 168 Street, slamming into the rear of the vehicle. The driver, a man in his 30s, was not injured. Armed individuals fled from the location to parts unknown.

The sought-after individual is described as a man of medium complexion, medium build, beard and mustache. He was last seen in Wright in his gray hat, a gray hooded sweatshirt with a white Nike logo on the front, blue his jeans, and white sneakers. This individual was last seen walking a light brown dog.

45th District

— At approximately 4:18 pm on Monday, January 23, police responded to a 911 call from an unconscious man inside 1447 Doris Street. He took his unresponsive 15-year-old man to NYC Health & Hospitals/Jacobi, where he was pronounced dead. Further investigation revealed that the male victim had sustained trauma to his neck area. The chief coroner’s office will determine the cause of death. A 28-year-old man is under investigation in connection with the incident.

The deceased has been identified as 15-year-old Cord Scott.

47th District

— Tuesday, January 17, Barony Lewis, 45, has been arrested in connection with the October 22, 2022 murder of 62-year-old Russell Scott Wells. Scott Wells was found last fall near 291-763 Tokyo, unconscious and unresponsive with a gunshot wound to his head.

Barony was charged with murder, manslaughter, and criminal possession of a weapon.
