Toyota recalls nearly 1,400 Glanza, HyRyder due to airbag defect: Report

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has reportedly announced a recall of around 1,400 vehicles in India. Recalled units such as the Glanza hatchback and Urban Cruiser HyRyder SUV are reported to have defective airbag controllers. According to Mint’s report, these models were manufactured between December 8th and he January 12th of last year.

Toyota has recalled approximately 1,400 vehicles, including some units in its recently launched Urban Cruiser High Rider SUV, due to faulty airbag controllers.

Toyota guarantees that airbag controller malfunctions will be resolved soon. The automaker says it will replace defective airbag controllers in both the Granza and Urban Cruiser his Highrider. We advise owners of these units to contact their respective dealer where the defect will be resolved free of charge to the owner.

The recall from Toyota comes days after Maruti Suzuki issued a recall of several models for similar technical issues. Maruti Suzuki has announced a recall of his 17,362 units.
