Two transported to hospital after Robbins accident


Two people were taken to hospital after two cars collided outside Robbins on Tuesday night.

The vehicle was traveling east on Highway 24/27 near Sunset Drive. A Jeep Cherokee was rear-ended by a Chevrolet Equinox, officials at the scene said.

Wet weather may have contributed to the accident, but the exact cause is unknown and is being investigated by the North Carolina Highway Patrol.

The impact sent the Equinox off the road and into the wire mesh. Part of the fence was damaged. The Jeep had moderate damage to the front end and the Equinox had moderate damage to the rear end.

The Equinox driver and passenger were taken to Moore Regional Hospital by Moore County EMS. they suffered minor injuries. The jeep driver was not injured.

The Moore County Sheriff’s Department, Robbins Police Department, and Robbins Fire and Rescue were dispatched to the scene.
