WCSO asks public’s help to identify suspects who attempted to steal an ATM


Blaine, WA — Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) security filmed when two subjects used a stolen vehicle to break into a gas station and attempt to access an automated teller machine (ATM) I published a video.

At approximately 4:30 am on Tuesday, January 17, lawmakers responded to an alarm at the store at 8800 Brain Road.

Surveillance video from the business (above) showed the two suspects strapping the front door to the tow straps attached to a red Jeep stolen from Bellingham earlier that morning. , is seen pulling an ATM out of the store, again using a tow strap attached to the Jeep. Subject repeatedly attempted to ram her ATM with a jeep, but was unable to access the cash inside. They eventually give up and flee the scene in a jeep, leaving the ATM behind.

The jeep was spotted by a WCSO K9 unit in a nearby forest.

As of January 24, the identities of the two suspects remain unknown.
