Whatcom Sheriff’s Office looking for ATM thieves in Blaine


According to a Facebook post from the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office, two thieves used a stolen Jeep and a tow strap to pull an ATM out of the store and used the Jeep to repeatedly ram the ATM before leaving the store.

The incident occurred around 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 17, on Block 8800 of Blaine Road, south of Blaine.

The incident was caught on surveillance cameras, and the sheriff’s office posted photos of the stolen car and two thieves. The Jeep was stolen from Bellingham earlier that day and was found by Sheriff K-9 in the nearby woods, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Law enforcement agencies are looking for information about the incident and are asking people to contact the hotline at 360-778-6663. The case number is 23A01773.
